Two for Two Cakes (510) 812-2451, info@twofortwocakes.com
We did use a great baker, and her name is Allison. She is the owner/ baker of Two for Two Cakes, and she's still small, but getting busier all the time. Easy to work with, easy on our tiny budget, and the cake was perfect-looking, and tasty.  We selected her because she's the only baker we could find in the Bay Area who would make a red velvet wedding cake. She's very moderately priced for such high quality work.

Fat Angel Bakery in Fairfax, (415) 455-0590, shannon@fatangelbakery.com
This bakery is fantastic! Shannon, the owner and baker, is a magician. We brought her a picture of a cake, just a picture--no details beyond that--and simply asked "Can you make this?" Shannon's response was "Sure!" and she worked with us to determine exactly what we wanted for our cake. Although other bakeries had indicated a 3 tiered cake was not recommended for a small wedding, Shannon had no concerns with our request. What Shannon produced was a fabulous three tiered cake with whip cream and fresh raspberry filling. The outside was covered in white butter cream with chocolate spread across the top and dripping down the sides. The top was decorated with cluster of organic red roses and with rose petals and fresh
raspberries on the other levels. A simple cake some may think but visually a stunning work of art and the best tasting cake we and any of our guest have experienced.

Gerhard Michler Fine European Desserts, San Francisco
(415) 255-1128, info@gerhardmichler.com

I am STILL hearing that my cake was "the best EVER". They did what I wanted, even though they had never done a mosaic cake before. I got to pick any combination of cake and fillings. The consultation was no pressure and was more about educating me on my choices and tasting the components seperately and as a finished product. No sales pressure, their product speaks for itself. They take alot of pride in what they do vs. some other bakery tastings I did on the same day where they acted like I was just one more cake out of a thousand and had no identity. I got to deal with the owners and that rocked. They have a more European style so things are more natural, high quality and not overly sweetened. Loved it!
